This is for the next Magic set currently being spoiled. I’m going to be replacing black in my current Heroic deck with green, because of the new Venerated Rotpriest card that gives target opponent a poison counter whenever a creature you control becomes the target of a spell. It’s absolutely busted, especially when combined with things like Illuminator Virtuoso and Stormchaser Drake. Pretty overpowered for both Standard and Modern, especially noting the fact that it’s either player’s spells. Edit: I considered replacing Homestead Courage with Blessed Defiance because the life swing with that can be huge, especially with the double strikers. If you’re more interested in playing for poison, though, Homestead is probably better because you can recast it (or still get value from discarding it).
