From cantrips to a constant board-state Octavia, Living Thesis gives you the option of taking over the game. The best part about building this deck is that it can be a fully functional by using cards that you have laying around. You do not need to include expensive cards, like Mana Drain or Intuition, for this deck to work. My deck started this way and over time has become more refined.

The main focus of this deck is to play low CMC cards to get 8 instants and/or sorceries in the grave. With Octavia's cost reduction online bring her into the fight. Players will quickly have to change their play styles to deal with her. Her ward 8 is the reason why you don't need to include a Lightning Greaves or Swiftfoot Boots in the deck.

There is one main thing to note about my deck. It is using the animate lands heavily. You will need to have a decent understanding of the stack to pilot this deck effectively. The animate lands combo so well with octavia’s mage craft ability and they keep you as a constant threat in the game. By using these lands over the traditional creatures you have “creatures” that can live through board wipes and become 8/8 attackers and blockers at instant speed. This will disincentivize your opponents from attacking you. Plus, land creatures get around traditional removal cards like Cyclonic Rift and Farewell. Your opponents will have to use more unconventional means to remove them.

This deck can win with big splashy damage, infect, or commander damage. It’s not too hard when any creature can become an 8/8. Plus, it’s a strong political tool.

At first I made this deck as a gimmick, but I quickly saw the potential behind it. It is a really fun deck that is out-of-the-box for blue. It showed me that blue doesn't have to be using counter spells and control cards to win the game. I would strongly recommend trying it out.
