Cabaretti Catering (HIS Brawl)

Commander / EDH* Food RGW (Naya) Theme/Gimmick

somsoc

Toolboxy food and party theme deck deck building around Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer!

Typically wins via building out an insurmountable lifegain engine and/or endlessly cycling Rocco each turn with Rienne, Angel of Rebirth.

Wilds of Edraine added another possible wincon, that of turning foods into direct damage via Food Fight or a overrun effect with Night of the Sweets' Revenge.

Eldraine returns along with a number of food melarky themed cards that are a real gift for this deck, mostly exchanged for less-thematic equivalents. Notably Night of the Sweets' Revenge is a hilarious pay-off for a catering deck.

Light-Paws was an early include owing to there being just enough auras in the deck to trigger the ability regularly, however the only aura that ever got attached to them was Sticky Fingers. It was cute but since Light-Paws isn't a thematic include, they are making way. Likewise Arlinn  Flip, an on-colour pet card that makes way for thematic includes, and a few others.

Yenna, Redtooth Regent offers the ability to copy up some of the quite busted enchantments in this deck.

Solar Blaze was a concession to needing sweepers in Historic Brawl, and there's a bunch of bigger butt creatures in this deck that survive the damage, however for the sake of flavour I'm experimenting with cutting it.

But the real reason for the uptick in food related cards? It's Food Fight! Yes we can only include one of this card (two with Yenna!) but it's too on-theme not to play! As always in a theme deck I advocate for flavour over power. For me the enjoyment that comes from crafting a visual/gameplay narrative with Cabaretti nonsense is more worth the sacrifice!
