Nasty End

Instant

As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice a creature.

Draw two cards. If the sacrificed creature was legendary, draw three cards instead.

ShadowMasterNL Thank you very much for indulging me!

I play with a lot of control players or stax/tax players and I am also hoping to eventually compete with that deck as well that's why this deck needs to be strong.

I mostly run ''sacrifices'' for more mana, and I have a good amount of recursion which allow me to bring the creatures back to the field or my hand or the top of my deck so i'm not super worried about lacking creatures, especially since i run a lot of stax and taxes myself.

I think the only other sacrifice cards I run are for cards drawing which give me some synergy but maybe they could be contenders for cuts ? Village Rites Vampiric Rites Nasty End ?

I usually end up sacrificing Vile Entomber in order to bring him back and tutor some more.

But, I will say that I was wondering if I should add more creatures to it as well.

Xtough Pleasure having you back in the comment section, I followed your advice and was able to actually up the manabase to 35 without losing any competitiveness, thank you very much for cuts suggestions that are always on point!

I agree that Uncivil Unrest is VERY good. I once had it this deck for a long time. However, whenever I played it I noticed that I already had +1 counters on most, if not all, my creatures. Furthermore, I don't really play this deck as a heavy sac deck (unlike most Marchesa decks). Most of the time I'm just trying to reset the board as soon as I can. So I decided to take out Uncivil Unrest for something cheaper. If I decide to put in more sac outlets, I'll probably consider putting it back in. But as of now, I see myself putting in another MLD before putting Uncivil Unrest back in.

I've thought about replacing Nasty End for Plumb the Forbidden. Maybe I will. It's a good card. And you make very good points.

I like cards that do things the same turn they are played. Canoptek Tomb Sentinel can't do anything by itself. Again, if I put in more sac outlets, I'll probably also put in Canoptek Tomb Sentinel.

amicdeep I appreciate the reminder about Basilisk Collar and truthfully you could pop out the Haakon slot for more consistency. His inclusion is mostly for the certainty of the draw from Nasty End, but some switch around could definitely improve how well this deck functions.

Added Nasty End to the Maybeboard, but need to figure out what to remove. Any thoughts?
