I used to be big into competitive standard play, but due to money and lack of a car, I haven't been able to keep up.

I love modern for its variety and longevity - if you dish out the money for an expensive modern cards, chances are you aren't going to have to worry about selling/trading it in order to keep up with the format weeks later coughstandardcough

I love EDH because it lets you create casual, janky decks without being seen as a bad player, which I very much appreciate because, let's face it, sometimes we just can't resist the urge to build that fun deck we all know will be bad.

Limited is my strongpoint, draft in particular. Sealed kicks my butt because I have the unluckiest draw alive. Consistently. Anyway, I love drafting because it levels the playing field; I feel like it is a great test of skill because you're forced to gauge cards by their playability and power-levels in a short period of time, and then build a deck out of said cards. It exercises your abilities as a player because it doesn't necessarily allow you to stay within a certain pet color combo. You're forced to branch out.
