You may spend mana as though it were mana of any color?

So, I had an interaction where I hard cast Chromatic Orrery with all my lands and I had the 5 colorless from Chromatic Orrery . I wanted to Shock and Fire Prophecy , but I only had colorless. Does Chromatic Orrery make it matter whether the mana is colorless? Or can I spend colorless mana as though it were mana of any color?
The key here is how the artifact says "You may spend mana..."
Since it doesn't give any qualifiers on the mana, you can assume that it means all mana you have may be spent as mana of any color.

Chromatic Orrery lets you spend colorless mana (as well as colored mana) as though it was mana of any color.
