Would you still get infect tokens if you cast Teferi’s protection

Do you still take infect damage even though you have “protection from everything” from Teferi's Protection . Wouldn’t that mean you can’t be targeted period?
Just to add one slight addition to Kogarashi's post, the above-listed elements of protection can be remembered with the acronym D.E.B.T. I find it to be a helpful little mnemonic, so I wanted to share.

Thanks for the clarification. Some guys at my local card shop where trying to say that it would still apply the counters because infect was deferent then actually dealing damage

If they argue again, here's the relevant rule for infect:
- 702.89b Damage dealt to a player by a source with infect doesn't cause that player to lose life. Rather, it causes that source's controller to give the player that many poison counters. See rule 119.3.
It's still damage. It just doesn't cause life loss, but rather poison counters (or, per the following rule, it does damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters).

Teferi's Protection WILL NOT protect you from infect. You will still take damage but your life total just doesn't change.

CrimsonKing - you are incorrect. You appear to only be looking at the first part of Teferi's Protection - that your life total does not change - but not the second - its providing protection from everything.
As explained above, protection from everything prevents you from being damaged. Creatures with Infect are still dealing damage - Infect’s replacement effect changes how damage is marked, not the fact that damage is dealt. Because Infect still deals damage, protection will prevent this damage.

Thanks! I was having this arguement last night and died to infect lol. Everyone kept saying I was wrong and we were inebriated.

Something with protection can't be:
Damaged by sources with the specified quality
Enchanted, Equipped, or Fortified by permanents with the specified quality
Blocked by creatures with the specified quality
Targeted by spells with the quality or abilities from sources with the quality
So if you have "protection from everything," that means anything that falls under "everything" can't damage, target, or enchant you. This includes any spells that would deal infect damage to you, so no infect counters.
