Will Worldgorger Dragon's second ability still trigger if it's destroyed before it's first ability triggered?

Worldgorger Dragon hits play, his ETB ability triggers. On the stack, someone gets rid of it. He's destroyed, his LTB ability fizzles on the stack, then the original ETB ability resolves, exiling all of my permenants. Is that how that works?

Basically yes. Another example on a smaller scale would be destroying Oblivion Ring before its ETB ability resolves. Powerful, but risky card.

Your wording is a bit off, but yes.

Worldgorger Dragon's first ability doesn't trigger until it enters the battlefield, at which point it's no longer on the stack. If the dragon is countered while it's still on the stack, its ETB hasn't triggered (because it hasn't entered the battlefield yet).

But yes, as Boza said, it's like a bigger Oblivion Ring trick. If you cast Worldgorger and no one counters it, it ETBs and its ETB trigger goes on the stack. If it LTBs while that trigger is still on the stack (because it was destroyed, bounced, exiled, or whatever), its LTB trigger also goes on the stack and resolves first. The ability tries to return the exiled cards, but there are no exiled cards yet, so there's no effect. Then the first ability resolves, exiling your things permanently.
