Will Palliation Accord receive a rules update with shield counters gaining intrinsic rules?

Asked by Yesterday 2 years ago

Palliation Accord is an older card that uses shield counters, which as of Cappenia have been granted innate rules (Disciplined Duelist).

Will Palliation Accord be receiving a functional buff? Is there a precedent for this?

Apparently they're being errata'ed to palliation counters and will not interact with or be considered shield counters. I can't find any specific precedent for changing the name of counters, only of counters receiving names, like Venarian Gold using sleep counters. (There might be a couple I missed; I didn't dive super-deep and there are a lot of counters that only one card uses.)

Personally, I think WotC could have either come up with a different name for the new counters or allowed Palliation Accord to keep using them. This just makes another card that doesn't do what it says it does.

That's... really lame. Thanks for answering though.
