Wildfire Eternal and Nemesis Mask

Wildfire Eternal was just spoiled and has afflict 4 (whenever a creature blocks this creature it's controller loses 4 life). How would this combine with Nemesis Mask or cards like mask?

No I mean that pretty much answers it but seems broken in modern if you have any green cards running afflict

The reminder text is as follows:
Afflict 4 (Whenever this creature becomes blocked, defending player loses 4 life.)
Assuming this is true to the actual rules, they only lose 4 life, because it only "became blocked" once. The answer you were given was correct if the reminder text you provided was true to the actual rules.

Let's say your opponent controls four creatures, and they're all untapped, with nothing preventing them from blocking. All four creatures have to be declared as blockers, triggering the Eternal's ability four times, causing 16 damage.
Or were you asking about another interaction entirely?
