Whip of Erebos and Dragonlord Kolaghan interaction

Asked by Argy 8 years ago

Dragonlord Kolaghan says that whenever an opponent casts a creature spell with the same name as a card In his or her graveyard, that player loses 10 life.

If you use the ability of Whip of Erebos to return a Warbringer to the battlefield under your control, will you have to lose 10 life if you have another Warbringer in your graveyard?

I think not, because you are not casting the Warbringer.

Thanks for any assistance.

You're correct. Whip of Erebos doesn't cause you to cast anything, so Dragonlord Kolaghan's ability's trigger condition is never met.
