When I have a host in battlefield can I use Alesha who smiles at death 's ability to return an Augment (like Stram-Powered-) to battlefield?

Please link cards using double square brackets to improve understanding.

Alesha, Who Smiles at Death, Steam-Powered

For starters, you will need to make sure your playgroup allows silver-bordered cards in Commander, as Augment is only found on silver-bordered cards at this time.

Yes, Augment cards are creature cards, and thus interact with abilities that care about creature cards. This means that you could indeed return Steam-Powered to the battlefield using Alesha's ability (assuming your group agrees that the +0/+4 in its P/T box actually qualifies as Power and Toughness; the rules are a bit fuzzy on this because it's Unstable).

However, from what rules for Unstable that do exist, your Augment card would go to your graveyard again right away for not having a proper host.

Like with a lot of Un-set cards, much of the interactions will require you to discuss it with your playgroup and see what they think. The above is the only official stance I can find on it.

Additional information (missed the edit window):

Per Mark Rosewater's tumblr, if you have Rules Lawyer in play, enabling an Augment to remain on the battlefield without state-based actions sending it to the graveyard for lack of a host, then the Augment is a 0/0 creature.

Again, you'll want to talk to your group about using silver-bordered cards and how they'll work with your desired combo. It's technically possible, but you either lose the Augment right away to SBAs, or have a 0/0 creature.

When an augment enters the battlefield without being cast it can be attached to a Host that is already on the battlefield (much like an aura when not cast). The question included a Host on field, so it should work as intended.

Where are you getting that information from, Gidgetimer?

Gidgetimer, I too would be interested in a source for that. Per the Unstable FAQAWASLFAQPAFTIDAWABIAJTBT, if you somehow put a card with augment onto the battlefield without actually augmenting it, it will head to the graveyard.

I see no indication that it functions like Auras.

I was using a ruling from a judge during the recent LRR UNsanctioned stream. He cited MaRo (the UNrules manager) at the UNstable PPR. I will find it later. I am currently just on my phone.

I can't find my source to cite. I will look some more this weekend and post anything I find.
