what happens if you target Gideon, Ally of Zendikar with Stasis Snare?

If you use Stasis Snare on Gideon, Ally of Zendikar when he becomes a Creature does he stay snared, or does he go back to the field as he is no longer a Creature?

Stasis Snare only needs the target to be a creature when you cast it and before it resolves. The actual card type doesn't matter.
Gideon will return to the battlefield as a planeswalker when Stasis Snare leaves play.
Same thing would happen with an Ensoul Artifacted Sol Ring.

That is the effect I wanted but thought I may have it wrong.

It'll stay exiled.
Stasis Snare only cares that the target is a creature when it's targeted and when the ability resolves. Once the permanent is exiled, it's left there until the effect's duration is up, regardless of what types it has or doesn't have in exile.
