Waves of Aggression and creatures that entered "tapped and attacking"

Asked by Triforce-Finder 8 years ago

This is about the exact definition of "creatures that attacked this turn". Does Waves of Aggression untap a jutsu'd Mistblade Shinobi, tokens from Hero of Bladehold, or a card returned with Alesha, Who Smiles at Death?

I'll most probably need a rules quote for this, too.

508.4. If a creature is put onto the battlefield attacking, its controller chooses which defending player or which planeswalker a defending player controls it's attacking as it enters the battlefield (unless the effect that put it onto the battlefield specifies what it's attacking). Such creatures are "attacking" but, for the purposes of trigger events and effects, they never "attacked."

Emphasis mine. So, in all three cases you described, no, Waves of Aggression would not untap the creature.

Hm, as I thought. Thanks for the help and the reference.
