Vivien, Arkbow Ranger’s -5 Loyalty Ability

If I use Viv’s Last ability, can I take a creature that’s not legal in the format that I’m playing? I’m using her in brawl and I’m trying to figure out if I’m allowed to grab a creature that’s not legal in standard.

From the Gatherer rulings for this card:
- In a casual game, a card you choose from outside the game comes from your personal collection. In a tournament event, a card you choose from outside the game must come from your sideboard. You may look at your sideboard at any time. (2019-07-12)
It depends on if you're playing in a casual game or a sanctioned event. If casual, then it can be any card you own from outside the game, whether or not it's legal in the format. If the event is sanctioned (such as a store tournament), then it must be included in your sideboard, which in the case of Brawl, will likely be either non-existent (if it's like Commander) or Brawl-legal.
