Trumpet Blast

Asked by BlackyMTG 9 years ago

If I cast Trumpet Blast before combat, will the creatures I attack with get the +2/+0 or is this more of a sort of static effect?

It literally says, "Until end of turn". So that's yes.

@FALLEN-X-ANGEL: That's incorrect.

When Trumpet Blast resolves, it identifies the set of attacking creatures and then applies a static buff to them. Anything outside of that set will remain unaffected.

Always check the Gatherer rulings before asking a question.

9/20/2014: Only creatures that are attacking as Trumpet Blast resolves will receive the bonus. In other words, casting it before youve declared attackers usually wont do anything.

If you cast Trumpet Blast before combat none of your creatures will get +2/+0 because none of them are attacking yet. And even if you attack, none of them will get +2/+0 because they hadn't attacked yet. You have to cast Trumpet Blast IN combat after you've attacked in order for them to get the bonus.
