Sydri, mind slaver, and nim deathmantle. Does this infinite combo work?
Asked by metalflame 1 year ago
Sydri, Galvanic Genius can turn Mindslaver into a creature, and when you sac it you can put it back on the field with Nim Deathmantle.
Effect is you bring back mind slaver, take the opponents turn, and then take your turn again. Rinse repeat for infinite mind slaver
Is this how this would work in EDH?

Yes.
Sydri will make Mindslaver a creature, which you can equip. When you sacrifice Mindslaver, Deathmantle will trigger. When you pay 4 for Deathmantle's trigger, you'll return Mindslaver to the battlefield. However, it is worth noting that Mindslaver will technically have summoning sickness, so you will not be able to loop this multiple times in a turn without a haste enabler.
Relevant rule on Nim Deathmantle if that's helpful: "Nim Deathmantle’s second ability may return a card it can’t equip to the battlefield. For example, if a nontoken artifact that’s become a creature (ie Mindslaver) is put into your graveyard from the battlefield, Nim Deathmantle’s second ability triggers. If you pay {4} as it resolves, you’ll return that card to the battlefield..."
