Skullcrack, how you do?

Asked by Apex_Promethean 9 years ago

Iv been reading alot about Skullcrack on how the damage cant be prevented on it only applies toward the player, but iv read that it also applies to creatures, so scenario if my opponent has a Master of Waves and I cast Anger of the Gods on top of that I cast Skullcrack will the creature die?

Yes. Skullcrack 's last effect stops protection from preventing damage, so Anger of the Gods will deal damage to Master of Waves .

As Anger of the Gods doesn't target the creatures it deals damage to, and Skullcrack prevents the damage prevention effect of protection from taking place, Master of Waves would actually get the 3 damage. Because of the replacement effect of Anger of the Gods , however, it would not die, but get exiled.

Note that Skullcrack will have to have resolved before Anger of the Gods does for this to work, though.

Skullcrack prevents all damage from being prevented. Simply, damage of any kind cannot be prevented. Creatures with protection from red like Master of Waves will take damage from Anger of the Gods if Skullcrack has already resolved.

However, note that Skullcrack does not stop targeting spells like Lightning Strike from being unable to target creatures with protection from red. If you Skullcrack then target Master of Waves with Shock or Lightning Strike , the Master will still be an illegal target for the red spell. Cards like Pyroclasm and Anger of the Gods do not target, and will deal damage to pro red creatures, but only if Skullcrack has previously resolved.
