Siege wurm, convoke mechanic?

(asking A lot of questions lately) if i cast a Siege Wurm may i use say 1/1 green tokens to cover its entire mana cost?
also can my opponent respond to me tapping the creatures for that mana? will this counter the spell?
if i used Elite Arcanist on an convoked spell, can i use the convoke mechanic to help pay for its mana cost while using Elite Arcanist
Also, convoke doesn't let you tap creatures for mana. It lets you tap creatures to replace paying mana. It's a big difference when there are cards like Mana Reflection around.

You would still have to pay the GG cost though, it just reduces the colorless mana required to cast the spell

1) Yes. If you tap, for example, seven Saprolings, then the cost to cast Siege Wurm can be reduced down to 0.
2) No, they cannot. The creatures are tapped as part of paying the spell's cost, at which point no player has priority.
3) No. The X cost of Elite Arcanist 's activated ability is just a mana cost based on the converted mana cost of the exiled spell. What that spell is does not affect the cost to use the Arcanist's ability.
