Shapshifters in Tribal mechanics

Hey there,

So I know that cards like Metallic Mimic are not like changeling so they are not of the X creature type unless they are on battlefield, but do that "As metallic mimic enters..." can be counted as an trigger? And If I'm using cards like Kindred Discovery choosing merfolk and cast the mimic or another shpashifter like clone or whatever. Do that make the discovery trigger?

Enter the battlefield triggers occur after a creature enters the battlefield

As this card enters resolve before the card enters. They are notbtriggered abilities

If you resolve Metallic Mimic on Merfolk, and you have a Kindred Discovery on Merfolk, you get to draw a card
