Searing blaze and landfall?

Asked by SerTimtheJailer 8 years ago

So say if I have fetch lands like Bloodstained Mire and i play the fetch land on my turn but I dont pay the life. Then on there turn they play a creature, so I pay the life and bring a mountain onto the battlefield. Will Searing Blaze's landfall activate on there turn since a land came into play? I think it would but I figured I'd ask to be sure. Thanks

A land entered the battlefield, so the spell effect is modified.

It does not matter if it was via fetchland, Explosive Vegetation, played from the grave via Crucible of Worlds, returned from exile with Flickerwisp's delayed trigger, etc.

Note that Searing Blaze's landfall doesn't "activate." Only activated abilities can be activated, and only manually. Searing Blaze's landfall ability simply defines an additional effect that is applied if the landfall condition has been met that turn.
