Sacrrificing for modular

Say that my opponent is attacking with a creature and block with Arcbound Ravager could I sacrifice Arcbound Ravager after I declare a block to activate the modular, and the damage wouldn't go through?

Note that you don't activate modular. Modular is both a static and a triggered ability, and it can be triggered, but not activated. What you're activating is Arcbound Ravager 's first ability.

Depends on whether or not the creature that the opponent is attacking with has Trample or not. If it does, you take damage anyways, if not, you don't, and yes, you can sacrifice Arcbound Ravager to it's own ability.
