Rubinia Soulsinger && Proteus Staff

So lets say that I have taken control f an opponents creature and I have Proteus Staff because I control the creature can I use it to activate proteus staff.
The card states the the creature goes to the bottom of the owners library so the creature would end up on the bottom of the original players library.
But at the time of activation I was the controller so do I then reveal cards from my library until I reveal a creature?
I under stand that with token creatures I just basically sacrifice the token and reveal till I hit a creature. But I am not sure on the interaction with a creature that have wrested control of from an opponent.

The staff checks who last controlled the creature. If you notice, it does say put it into its owner's library, but the controller of the creature is the one who reveals from the library. (This is in order to avoid confusion such as this. Say it said "the owner reveals...", it'd be unfair if someone stole the creature and did this only to have the owner reveal and not the controller). Since you are the one who controlled it, you get the new creature.
