Ronin Warclub + Phantasmal Image

Will the attach clause of Ronin Warclub automatically kill Phantasmal Image upon Image entering the battlefield? Or does it only work if you pay the equip cost?
Thank you! That is what i thought, hut i have a friend trying to make an infinite venture into the dungeon combo from scratch and he asked me about auto targeting on etb. I found this and Death Match. I knew match would work but i wasnt certain about warclub. Thanks for the clarification!

Phantasmal Image only must be sacrificed when it becomes the target of a spell of ability, and Ronin Warclub's first ability doesn't use the word "target" at all. Magic is very clean about most of its rules--if an effect doesn't use the word "target" then it isn't a targeting effect (though do be careful about some keyword abilities, whose rules text are the only part about them that use the word target!).
