Righteous Valkyrie interaction with Lifelink and lethal damage

If I have 6 life above my starting life total and swing with a Righteous Valkyrie that has life link and my opponent blocks with a creature with any creature with 4 power, does my Righteous Valkyrie still die to lethal damage or is it a 4/6 before damage is checked?

Your Valkyrie will survive. Lifelink modifies the damage to damage and life gain, so both creatures will deal damage to each other and you'll gain 2 life at the same time. By the time the game checks whether lethal damage has been dealt, Righteous Valkyrie will have its buff.

In a similar fashion, if you were at 4 life and they attacked with two 4/4s,you could block one with Righteous Valkyrie and survive with 2 life (since again, you gain life from lifelink at the same time you take the 4 damage)
