Protean Hydra + Hardened Scales interaction?

how the last triggered ability of Protean Hydra works if Ihave Hardened Scales on the battlefield? do I put 2 counters + 1 from hardened scales for each counter removed from the hydra? Or, I put the double of removed counter + 1 from hardened scales?

Note that Hardened Scales doesn't have a triggered ability. Rather, it has a static ability that defines a replacement effect. This effect applies each time a new event would place a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control.
Because Protean Hydra's last ability creates a DTA for each +1/+1 counter that is removed from Protean Hydra, you'll end up applying Hardened Scales's replacement effect to each of those DTAs. The end result is that you'll add three +1/+1 counters total for each +1/+1 counter that was removed.

Whenever a +1/+1 counter is removed from Protean Hydra, it's bottom ability will trigger. Each trigger that happens creates a Delayed Triggered Ability (DTA) that triggers at the beginning of the next end step, putting 2 +1/+1 counters on Protean Hydra. For each DTA that occurs, Hardened Scales will trigger that many times and add an additional +1/+1 counter each time it triggered.
