Planeswalker rule "Cold-Eyed Selkie"

Asked by Devix 5 years ago

I have a partner commander deck with Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa and Silas Renn, Seeker Adept. It uses a lot of 2/2 creatures that give me cards when they deal player damage. Last night i played Cold-Eyed Selkie and attacked/damaged a planeswalker. We can't figure out if i still get to draw cards with the new planeswalker rules.

So, i want to draw the cards, can i attack planeswalkers?

The new rules with regards to Planeswalker damage only apply to spells and abilities. There existed a previous rule where you could redirect noncombat damage onto a Planeswalker the opponent controlled.

For combat it is still the same - you have to declare you are attacking either the player or Planeswalker with your creature. Damage done to a Planeswalker will not trigger Cold-Eyed Selkie.
