Pia's Revolution interactions with making a creature an artifact?

Asked by UniqueUserID 6 years ago

I think I know the answer but want to be sure. So I have 3 questions.

1) Can I use Liquimetal Coating to make a Scornful Egotist an artifact creature so Pia's Revolution could return it to my hand?

2) Could I use Liquimetal Coating to make a Purity an artifact creature so Pia's Revolution could return it to my hand? Since I control both effects can I choose the order to force Purity to my hand?

3) How does Pia's Revolution and Credit Voucher work? Does the Credit Voucher return to my hand AFTER I have fulfilled the effect? Or does it happen earlier so I can "cycle" it?

Thanks for helping!

1) Yes. The last information the game has about your Scornful Egotist is that it is an artifact creature.

2) Yes. Both abilities trigger at the same time. You control both, so you may put them on the stack in any order you choose.

3) In order to put Credit Voucher's abuility on the stack, you have to sacrifice it (Pia's Revolution triggers, but the ability isn't put on the stack yet, as you're still in the process of activating the ability). Once the Voucher's ability is put on the stack, the game checks if any trigger events were met. It sees Revolution's ability and puts it onto the stack above the Voucher's.

A small note, that shouldn't matter, but when Purity dies you choose the order the triggers go on the stack. If you want it shuffled into your library for whatever reason, it will already be in your library when your opponent decides whether or not to take the damage, making their decision easier. Shouldn't have a big impact, as I'm sure you'll typically want it in your hand though.
