Oran-Rief, the Vastwood + Cream of the Crop

I have Cream of the Crop and Oran-Rief, the Vastwood in play. Oran-Rief, the Vastwood is untapped. I play Balduvian Bears and tap Oran-Rief, the Vastwood to add a +1/+1 counter to Balduvian Bears. Do I get to search the top 2 or 3 cards of my library with Cream of the Crop?

The rules from gatherer on Cream of the Crop state: "The creature’s power is checked as this ability resolves. If the creature has left the battlefield, use its last known information."

So your creature would enter, Cream of the Crop triggers, then before it resolves you tap Oran-Rief, the Vastwood for your counter.

Then Cream of the Crop's ability goes to resolve and sees your bear has 3 power. So X will equal 3, and you'll do the thing.
