Nyxbloom Ancient + Doubling Cube

Asked by Tibus 4 years ago

shower thought...

Nyxbloom Ancient states if you tap a permanent for mana it produces 3 times as much, in its gatherer, it states that any mana ability with a tap symbol in its text is affected by this effect.

Doubling Cube says pay 3, tap, double the amount of mana in your mana pool. The gatherer ruling states this is a mana ability.

Example: To keep things simple... I use doubling cube, I have 25 blue mana in my mana pool. Doubling cube then see's this and creates 25 mana, Nyxbloom see's the mana ability activating and then triples 25 to 75, 75 mana is then added to the pool for a total of 100 blue mana.

Am I on the correct thought process or have I gone too far off the rails?

Yes, that's how it works. You have the right idea.

Tibus: A correct answer to your question has been up for a while. I marked it as the "Accepted answer" so that this topic can move out of the list of unanswered questions. I usually avoid selecting my own answer when I have to do this, but in this case it was the only response. Please remember to take care of this yourself in the future. If you have any follow-up questions, feel free to post.

Thanks for that I didn't realize that selecting a correct answer or not was a thing, I thought this was similar to a forum where you post and get a response then forget about it.

Thanks for the clarification
