Multiples of the same trigger on the stack

Asked by PhotogenicParasympathetic 8 years ago

Let's say I've got a Blasting Station out, and I activate it, sac a creature, deal a damage. Then I cast some token maker, say Hordeling Outburst. Do I get three "Untap Blasting Station" triggers, one for each of the goblins? Can I respond to each by re-tapping the Blasting Station, so that each trigger actually does something upon resolution?

Yes. Whenever the conditions are met for a triggered ability to trigger, it will do so. Hordeling Outburst puts 3 tokens on the battlefield, triggering Blasting Station's ability 3 times.

You can indeed respond to them. but note in your scenario, Blasting Station is already tapped at the time of the tokens entering the battlefield. So, the first instance of the ability (the one on top of the stack) must resolve to untap Blasting Station, which you can then respond to each subsequent ability by tapping the Blasting Station before each resolves. You will still need to sacrifice a creature though for each time you tap the Station.
