Multiple planeswalker activations?

Asked by Ulamog4president 7 years ago

Let's say I activate my Tamiyo, the Moon Sage to tap a creature, then, since I am one turn from popping the planeswalkers ultimate, an opponent decides to Cyclonic Rift her. (admittedly a misplay). If I have enough mana to play Tamiyo, the Moon Sage again, can I activate her ability again, practically a second time in one turn?

Yes. The rule that you can only activate a planeswalker once per turn is specific to that specific object. If you somehow get another instance of the same planeswalker, it is a separate entity that doesn't know anything about the former one.

You could also, for example, activate Tamiyo, the Moon Sage, play another one (putting the first into your graveyard), and activate the new one. They are separate entities even if they were on the battlefield together long enough to see each other when states were checked.

This is generally true for many similar things.

Or maybe you could use The Chain Veil which will allow you to use the ability twice..... Just a thought. Idk if that helps you or not.
