Moraug, Fury of Akoum - summoning sickness and triggered abilty

Asked by Nekra 3 years ago

Hello, i have got a question in regard to summoning sickness and the triggered ability of Moraug, Fury of Akoum .

I would like to know if it is possible to do the following: 1. cast Moraug, Fury of Akoum , 2. play a land to trigger the landfall ability and attack.

Does this creatuer sill has summoning sickness or is it possible to attack because the landfall ability triggers?

Kind regards, Nekra

Summoning sickness means that you can not attack or activate abilities whose cost includes the or symbols if you have not controlled a creature since the beginning of your most recent untap step. Generating extra combats will therefore not affect what creatures have summoning sickness.

To add to what Gidgetimer said, it's important to distinguish that summoning sickness "wears off" at the beginning of your turn, not just when you untap the creature, which may be the source of confusion here, seeing as the effect which generates an additional combat phase also untaps creatures. Untapping a creature doesn't remove summoning sickness.
