Mirage mirror copying perm that exiles cards and copying something else to interact with those cards

If I have a Mirage Mirror copy Pyxis of Pandemonium and next turn my Mirage Mirror copies Synod Sanctum, can I pay 2 and sac it and gain control of the cards that were exiled when it was the Pyxis?

Please don't make observations about the difficulty of questions, it makes people feel bad. We want people to have a positive experience in the rules q&a so that they will continue to use it and be able to play magic by the rules and learn. Also your reasoning for it "be(ing) fairly obvious" is wrong. When an object refers to itself by name it means "the object this ability is on". The OP may have known this much but not have been aware of linked abilities as you correctly identified the real reason to be later in your post.

this should be fairly obvious, but the answer is no. Synod Sanctum clearly states that it only returns cards exiled by Synod Sanctum. the 2 abilities are linked together, meaning that only cards exiled by the first ability can be brought back by the 2nd ability.
