Memory Jar + Manabond Combo?

Asked by GorehoundABB 3 years ago

I play a Memory Jar or Magus of the Jar set my hand aside with a Manabond in play.

I activate the ability and I draw my new 7. In this new hand it has some amount of lands. Lets say 3.

When I end the turn what exactly happens?

Do I have an opportunity to place those 3 lands into play with the Manabond ?

or

Does the Memory Jar / Magus of the Jar ability take precedent over the clean up / discard step and I'll end up discarding those lands regardless.

Both Manabond and Memory Jar have "at the beginning of the end" triggers. Since you control both of these triggers, you can order them as you please. So, you can order them so that the Manabond trigger resolves first and then the Memory Jar trigger. Note, is you controlled the ability from memory the delayed trigger that it creates for your end step is also controlled by you.

The cleanup step doesn't happen until after the End Step is done. Remember that the last phase of a turn is the End Phase which consists of the End Step and the Cleanup Step.
