Melek and Twincast

Asked by KingofBarcelona 8 years ago

Let's say Melek, Izzet Paragon is on the field with Twincast on the top of your library. You cast an instant or sorcery (for the purpose of the question, lets say it Searing Spear ). So you cast Searing Spear and then copy it with Twincast, and then Twincast is copied by Melek, Izzet Paragon and then my question: Can you use Twincast to copy Twincast an infinite amount of times? Thanks for reading and answering.

You did something weird with your formatting and broke the site. If you are not 100% sure of how to do something please don't.

You could use the copy Melek makes to copy the original Twincast which would give you another copy of Twincast which could target the original and so on. The thing is that such a loop doesn't really do anything. It doesn't affect the storm count since it doesn't cast any spells, it doesn't give you any more Searing Spears since you are using the copy effect on twincast and Melek doesn't trigger on copies to net any copies from the loop. You would eventualyy have to make another choice for the copy because if a player can make a choice that would end an infinite loop they must after a finite amount of repetitions.

Fixed the formatting. Please make sure that you aren't inserting special characters into your text. The site has a hard time recognizing certain special characters and it may interfere with the formatting.
