"May" cast spell for free, but choosing to cast it normally.

So if I cast Epic Experiment and I hit a Pull from Tomorrow can I choose to cast it normally? Or are my only options pitching it to the graveyard or casting Pull from Tomorrow for zero?

Your options are to cast it without paying the mana cost, or to put it into the graveyard. The only way Epic Experiment is letting you cast the instants and sorceries is without paying their mana cost.
