Marchesa VS Garna

Asked by pedroedmarcos 5 years ago

Hey there,

So a friend of Mine have a Marchesa, the Black Rose "Stealing evento your Mother deck". If he uses Reins of Power or something like that to steal muito things And sac them to Ashnod's Altar triggering Marchesa, And O have Garna in my hand. What happens If I cast It at the end of his turn? There is a perfect timing to cast Garna in response to her trigger?

I did no explain the situation that well, but I'll try to give a best example here in the comments. So:

My opponent have A Marchesa deck, and he cast Reins of Power and get all my creatures. He cast Marhcesa and He put's +1/+1 counters on them with Unspeakable Symbol or something like that and after that He sac them to Ashnods alter triggering Marchesa. So here are the questions:

1-Let's say that I had 4 creatures that were stolen. Since He sac them 1 at a time, It will happen 4 triggers of Marchesa 1 at a time. So If I respond in on the last Sac+trigger Casting Garna, the Bloodflame Will all the creatures return to my hand right?

2-Can I respond to it At the end of his turn?

3-Same case and situation as situation 1, but instead of casting Garna, what will happen If I cast Thrilling Encore?

Thanks for the clarification.

Marchesa, the Black Rose creates a delayed triggered ability each time a creature with a +1/+1 counter controlled by Marchesa's controller dies. At the beginning of the next end step, the trigger will try to put that creature back onto the battlefield from the graveyard.

For your first situation, he would have four delayed triggered abilities waiting to go off at the end of the turn. Since you own the creatures, they go to your graveyard. Once all four creatures are in your graveyard, you can flash in Garna, the Bloodflame and all four creatures will return to your hand. When the end step comes, the Marchesa triggers will try to return the creatures, but they can't because those creatures are no longer in your graveyard, so the triggers do nothing.

For your second, you can wait until the end of the turn to flash in Garna, but you must do it in response to the triggers going on the stack. If you let them start resolving, some or all (depending on how many resolve) of your creatures will return under his control instead.

In your third scenario, at any point between your creatures going to your graveyard and the Marchesa triggers beginning to resolve, you can cast Thrilling Encore and you will get your creatures back on the battlefield under your control. As a bonus, if your opponent killed any of his creatures as well before you cast this, you will get his creatures too.
