Lurrus of the dream-den and mikaeus, the lunarch graveyard interaction

Asked by Mr_crazydude 2 years ago

My girlfriend wants to build a deck where Lurrus of the Dream-Den is her commander. secondly she wants to add Mikaeus, the Lunarch to the deck. But both of u are not certain what the interaction of lurrus is when she wants to cast mikaeus from the graveyard.

Can she only pay 2 mana (1 white, and 1 for X) to bring Mikaeus, the Lunarch back from the graveyard. meaning it enters with one counter or is the X decided on later?

Since Mikaeus, the Lunarch is being cast normally, you are still able to pay any amount of mana for . Lurrus of the Dream-Den doesn't put any restrictions on how it's cast, the only thing changing is where it's being cast from.

Correct, the mana value of the spell as it is cast from the graveyard has to be 2 or less, so would equal 1.

This is also answered in the official rulings for the card in the Gatherer page for Lurrus

To clarify, legendofa's answer is incorrect.
