Life's Legacy + Bioshift (or Sage of Hours)

Asked by MmmK 9 years ago

Suppose I have a Vinelasher Kudzu on the field with 3 +1/+1 counters. If I were to cast Life's Legacy using Vinelasher Kudzu as a sacrifice and in response cast Bioshift to move the 3 counters before it died: would Life's Legacy net 4 cards drawn or would the Bioshift reduce it to 1?

Part of Life's Legacy 's cost is to sacrifice the creature, by the time you can cast another spell the Vinelasher Kudzu will already be in your graveyard.

Forgot to explain the Sage of Hours bit. Picture the same scenario but I want to activate Sage of Hours ability to take extra turns before I sac it. Would removing counters before it dies alter the amount of cards I would draw?

These are just hypothetical questions as I don't have Life's Legacy yet to have playtested it.

I shouldn't post when I am tired lol.

There is no point time when you are able to both remove the counters and get a lot of cards via Life's Legacy. Imagine a real life life situation - can you pay for a two dollar item with a 1 dollar bill? It is the same thing here, you are trying to use the resources available to you twice - once for an extra turn, another time for card draw.

Yeah that makes sense though. The creature would die to cast the spell so if I were to remove counters before it died it would also have to be before Life's Legacy is actually cast.

Thanks for the help Kirtanei :P
