Keep control of a permanent?

Asked by MarloweH 5 years ago

Having Aminatou, the Fateshifter as commander:

If I play In Bolas's Clutches or any similar effect on an opponents permanent and use aminatous -1 ability and exile the aura. If I’m correct 1: when it returns, it attaches to something else (not targeting, thus getting around hexproof and shroud) 2: I lose control of the first thing it enchanted

Am I correct or does the aura go to the graveyard, and/or do I keep control of the permanent?

You're right.

If an aura is entering the battlefield by some way other than resolving as a spell, you choose a legal object to attach it to as it enters. It can be anything that satisfies the "Enchant NN" ability of the aura, as long as it doesn't have protection from one of the aura's qualities (protection specifically disallows enchanting/equipping). If you can't choose a legal object then the aura stays in whatever zone it's currently in.

In Bolas's Clutches will only give you control of whatever it's currently enchanting. If it becomes unattached then the control-changing effect will end.
