Karona, False God + Scythe of the Wretched - who gets control?

So, I equip my commander, Karona, False God with Scythe of the Wretched . An opponent gains control of Karona on their upkeep, and attacks. The defending player puts a chump blocker in front of Karona, and the chumper dies. Who gains control of the dead creature? I assume it's me, because I control the equipment and it says "your."

You would be correct.

Even though one of your opponents controls Karona, False God , you still control all auras and equipment that you attached to her, including Scythe of the Wretched . The ability is controlled by the Scythe's controller, not the creature's controller.

If the ability instead read "Equipped creature gets (this ability)," then the returned creature would go to Karona's current controller rather than you.
