Interactions between Mentor of the Meek with Captain of the Watch or Field Marshal

What is the interaction between Mentor of the Meek with either one Captain of the Watch and/or Field Marshal?

I assume since both Captain of the Watch and Field Marshal would first check if the creature type is a soldier first, it would then give them the +1/+1 counters if they were soldiers.

Which would mean that Mentor of the Meek ability would trigger, right? Or would the abilities of both the cards would negate Mentor of the Meek ability by just instantly putting them on the soldiers as how Honor of the Pure negates Mentor of the Meek ability.

Neither Captain of the Watch nor Field Marshal uses counters. An effect only involves counters if it uses the word "counter." (Similarly, a spell or ability only targets if it includes the word "target".)

As continuous effects, both Captain's and Marshal's buff abilities apply to Soldiers as they enter the battlefield. If you have only one of them out, 1/1 Soldiers will enter as 2/2s and trigger Mentor of the Meek's ability. If you have both out, however, those 1/1s will enter as 3/3s and you won't get any triggers.
