Infinite turns?

Asked by Colten_Lee 9 years ago

If I have Final Fortune imprinted on Isochron Scepter and a Sundial of the Infinite out, does that give me "infinite" turns as long as I keep 3 mana open per turn?

Yes, if you use the Sundial of the Infinite while the delayed trigger from Final Fortune is on the stack, you won't lose.

Note that you can actually activate Sundial of the Infinite's ability during any step before the end step and still be fine. Final Fortune's DTA triggers at the beginning of the end step, and Sundial of the Infinite's ability causes the game to skip directly to the cleanup step. This is useful to know in case it's beneficial for you to end the turn in response to a spell or ability that might otherwise interfere with your plan.

Did not think about that. So like, if I attack and my opponent casts Path to Exile I could just end the turn. And try again on my next extra turn

Correct. You aren't forced to wait until the beginning of the end step.

Now, BotES abilities would normally accumulate if you did this because they'd all be waiting for the end next end step, but Final Fortune specifies "beginning of that turn's end step," so the DTA can't trigger of that turn's end step never happens.
