Imposing Sovereign vs. Brimaz, King of Oreskos

Asked by SamuraiAm 9 years ago

If I am attacking with Brimaz, King of Oreskos and my opponent controls Imposing Sovereign , does Imposing Sovereign force tokens created by Brimaz, King of Oreskos to enter the battlefield tapped since they are attacking as they enter, and if so, do they do damage?

they are already coming into play tapped therefore Imposing Sovereign 's effect has already followed through, Brimaz, King of Oreskos 's effect says that they come into play tapped and attacking so even if they get tapped by another ability they still get to attack, to answer your question yes they do still do damage

Tokens created by Brimaz, King of Oreskos have vigilance, so my understanding is that they don't come into the battlefield tapped.

They will enter tapped yes, but they will still be attacking. Being tapped only prevents a creature from being declared as an attacker; these tokens were never had to be declared in the first place. Tapping them doesn't take them out of combat.

@Tyrannosary: Brimaz, King of Oreskos 's ability doesn't specify that the tokens enter the battlefield tapped.

@SamuraiAm: Vigilance is only relevant when the creatures are declared as attackers. It doesn't matter at any other time.

When an effect specifies that permanent enters the battlefield tapped, that permanent enters the battlefield tapped.

Also, note that tapping or untapping a creature in combat does not interfere with it dealing combat damage.
