If I play Hunted Wumpus, would that let me put Emrakul into play from my hand?

Asked by Asturonethoriusaline 4 years ago

If I play Hunted Wumpus into play, do I get to put Emrakul Aeon Torn (A creature, in case I didnt link it right), into play from my hand?

Reason I ask, is that it says "Each other player" That could mean each player, except me gets to put out a creature from their hand, because of the word "Other", as in OTHER PLAYER, not the original player that played the card.

Or it could mean that EACH OTHER PLAYER could mean that I the original player of the card, could be part of the EACH OTHER PLAYER.

So do, would I be able to get to also put a creature from my hand into play, by me playing Hunted Wumpus?

Is there a magic rullng on a question like this?

But if there is no magic ruling, what is your intrepretation, and what would a referee, judges ruling be on, about this question?

Thanks for any help.

Mike

I'm not sure of an English language usage of "each other" including the original, but in MtG "other" is always used to exclude the source or controler and apply to the set minus that one thing. Master of the Pearl Trident doesn't buff itself, the creature targeted with Chandra's Ignition doesn't damage itself, and Hunted Wumpus does not allow the player under who's control it entered the battlefield to put another creature into play.

Gidgetimer has the right of it. Other excludes the source or controller of the referenced effect.

Thanks all for the help, looks like its going to be a Elvish Piper , ramped out by Birds of Paradise , Simian Spirit Guide , and Infernal Plunge , to try to get Emrakul The Aeon Torn out by Turn 3.

I dont see any other way faster.

Asturonethoriusaline: Since it's clear from your response that you got a satisfactory answer to your question, I'm marking Gidgetimer's response as the "Accepted Answer" so that this topic can move out of the list of unanswered questions. Please remember to take care of this yourself in the future.

I'm sorry. I went to post the question in the forums. Then I saw something that said I wasnt supposed to post this there, and that I was supposed to post this here, instead of there.

Also sorry I forgot to mark which answer was best. I didnt know that if didnt do that, that left a unanswered question.

Thanks for letting me know.

Just noticed that apparently I somehow accidentally multiposted this question here somehow, altho I dont know how.

Maybe its because maybe either the post button didnt work right.

Or maybe I clicked the post button 2,3,4 times accidentally, and maybe that caused the thing to post this 3 times, like it did.

Or maybe it is was a glitch on my smart phone where even though I touched the post button once, the smart phone glitched and clicked the post button 2,3,4 times, instead of once.

In any case. I am sorry for the accidental multipost.

Can the admin, please delete the accidental multipost copies?

Thanks.

Sorry

Mike.

You didn't multi-post here. An admin moved your forum post into the Q&A and then marked an answer on it to. I think he didn't just delete the one in the forums so that the people who responded there would also get their internet points for being helpful contributing members of the community.

Gidgetimer, this thread did actually get posted three times in the Q&A section. It's still visible in the Unanswered section on my screen.

Weird. I see three copies, but they are all answered. The only two questions I show in the queue are meecht's from 3 days ago and stafl's from 15 hours ago. As far as this question goes I see this one, the one with your answer selected, and the one with scarlet2009's answer selected. I was just assuming the second two got moved by Rhadamanthus and had answers selected because he said that is what he did and how it showed up on my computer.

Kogarashi, you must be getting a cached version of the page or something. I marked answers for all 3 posts on the same day. They aren't in the list of unanswered questions.
