If an enchantment is removed do the counters remain and the creature it was cast on? Eternal Thirst

Asked by Nuubi 5 years ago

So the scenario is my opponent had a creature enchanted with Eternal Thirst . I used a sorcery(don’t remember which exactly) that removed his enchantment. Would the creature lose the counters it gained from that enchantment or do they remain on the creature. Appreciate everyone’s input! This form is incredibly helpful.

Counters remain with the creature, even when the source that placed them there goes away. This is different from stat buffs that come from enchantments, which do go away (compare Abzan Runemark , which gives +2/+2, to Eternal Thirst , which places counters).
