How long do you have to reveal your hand for?

Asked by FAMOUSWATERMELON 8 years ago

Simple question. My opponent plays Gitaxian Probe and I reveal my hand. When am I allowed to hide them again?

701.13a To reveal a card, show that card to all players for a brief time. If an effect causes a card to be revealed, it remains revealed for as long as necessary to complete the parts of the effect that card is relevant to. If the cost to cast a spell or activate an ability includes revealing a card, the card remains revealed from the time the spell or ability is announced until it the time it leaves the stack.

So I assume that a full table cycle is enough? How do you define a "brief time"?

Kind of subjective but long enough that everyone playing has seen and or gotten to read the cards should be fine.

Personally, i keep it revealed until they draw the card because that signals they are ready to move on
