How far does protection from everything go? (Progenitus)

Asked by The_Epic_Dog 5 years ago

The card in question is Progenitus .

• Does protection from everything protect it from the legends rule? (Can i have two of Progenitus out at the same time without a Mirror Gallery or Helm of the Host ?)

• Does it protect it from sacrifice effects like Merciless Eviction or All Is Dust ? What about Razaketh, the Foulblooded ?

• Does it protect it from bounce effects like Cyclonic Rift ?

Thanks

-The legend rule goes over protection so you would have to sacrifice one to the legend rule.

-It would still get exiled by Merciless Eviction , or sacrificed to All Is Dust . You can still sacrifice Progentius to Razaketh.

-It does not protect from mass bounce spells.

-Protection prevents - targeting, blocking, damaging, and enchanting.

When dealing with Protection, remember D.E.B.T.

Protection prevents:

D. Damage.

E. Enchanting (also Equipping and Fortifying). An item can’t be enchanted/equipped/fortified by something from which it has protection. If the item was already enchanted/equipped/fortified when it gained protection, the aura or artifact falls off.

B. Blocking.

T. Targeting.

Also, slight correction to Agent_Fire’s post - the legend rule does not result in one of the legends being “sacrificed” - it merely sends the legend to the graveyard as its own type of state-based action. As such, it will not trigger “whenever you sacrifice a creature” type effects.
