How does Trinisphere interact with Delve?

So let's say I exile 6 cards in my graveyard and try to cast Gurmag Angler for B while my opponent has a Trinisphere on the battlefield. Technically, I just cast a spell with a CMC of 7, and I "payed" 7 mana, since delve says it pays for mana and doesn't reduce the mana cost, but I didn't actually pay 3 mana, I payed one mana and 6 cards in my graveyard. Would the Trinisphere still require me to pay a total of three actual mana?
Importantly Delve is an alternative payment method, not an alternative cost, as Trinisphere does apply to alternative costs (such as Rooftop Storm), but not to alternative payment methods like Delve and Improvise.

Trinisphere would have no effect on cards with delve unless that cards CMC is already 2 or less, as Delve is not a cost reduction but instead an alternative cost payment.
